Why can't the Active Sync software find the iPAQ after connecting it to the serial port on my PC?
The iPAQ must be connected to the PC serial port with a null modem cable or adapter. See "How do I Sync my iPAQ to my PC when it is installed inside the Otter case?" for more details. The main problem that we are seeing is in the use of the null-modem cable which comes with Trimble brand GPS units. This is not a complete null-modem cable and must be replaced for ActiveSync to work correctly.
